Psychological treatment

At PuntP we offer three types of psychological treatments:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

This therapy helps you practice new ways of thinking and acting to achieve graeter balance and well-being. You often don't think about what you think. However, thoughts have major impact on how you feel. In this treatment you take time to become more aware of your thoughts. You practice changing impulsive negative thoughts or expectations to thoughts that are more suitable and helpful. You will also look into how you react in a range of situations together with your therapist. You wll also explore what situations you avoid because you find them too stressful and what effect this has on your feelings. You will practice changing your behavior in the direction you want in steps. You will also get homework.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

In this therapy you learn to accept your symptoms (such as anxiety, sadness, tension or sadness). You learn not to fight or hide these emotions. You will also learn how to limit the influence of these symptoms on your behavior. We help you discover what you truly find important and convert this into goals. You practice achieving these goals into steps. This way you have positive experiences. Your symptoms and setbacks will have less control over your life.  You will also receive homework.

Short-term Psychodynamic Supportive Psychotherapy (KPSP)

This is a treatment for people who have long-term or recurring mood symptomss. You talk about how you manage your situation and the important people in your life during therapy. What affects your symptoms and why do they persist? Together with your therapist , you will also explore which past experiences or relationships might be driving these patterns? This will help you understand what works for you. You will also learn to better recognize what thoughts work against you, which emotions you have not processed and what negative expectations contribute to feelin gloomy. The goal is for you to become less restricted by these thoughts, emotions and expectations.

At PuntP, we also offer Scheme Therapy and CBASP (Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy). If one of these treatments fits you, your practitioner will tell you more about it.
